Communities@Work began in 1977 as the new suburbs of the Tuggeranong Valley emerged from the paddocks of southern Canberra. The organisation, as we know it today, was formed in May 2002 as a result of the merger of two regional community services based in the Tuggeranong and Weston Creek regions.
In September 2007, Communities@Work celebrated its 30th anniversary. A major feature of the celebrations was the launch of a Thirty Year History, compiled by the well-known Canberra journalist, Frank Cassidy.
